The Nostalgia of Tumblr Music

Returning to the stage to bring back the most nostalgic feelings ever at the Modern Nostalgia Tour at the House of Blues in San Diego on April 26, 2023. The show features Filipino-American R&B/Soul artists Jeremy Passion, Jesse Barrera, Albert Posis, and Gabe Bondoc performing their classic originals and latest songs to an audience filled with a large range of ages (which I’m happy to know that their existence has been passed on to younger generations).
The concert opened up with Gabe Bondoc bringing the energy up with some of his original throwbacks like “Gentleman Don’t” and “Stronger Than”, as well as performing his latest single, “Found”.
Next up, Albert Posis and Jesse Barrera took the stage by not only hyping up the crowd with “Strawberry Soju” and “Maybe We Could Be a Thing”, but by bringing on Filipino-American singer Michael Carreon to perform with them!
Ending the show was the man himself, Jeremy Passion starting his set with “All Smiles”. Following after, he performs his classic Twitbook Medley, consisting of throwback covers from Usher and Alicia Keys’ “My Boo” all the way to Vanessa Carlton’s “A thousand Miles”. After the concert was “over”, everyone wasn’t satisfied until we got an encore performance for one specific song. Everyone chanted out “LEMONADE, LEMONADE, LEMONADE!” and look what we got, an encore with Passion, Bondoc, Posis, and Barrera! Ending the show with our national anthem, everyone was singing their lungs out to “Lemonade” and vibing out together. In my opinion, that was a great way to end an amazing show.
Honestly, I would have to say that the Modern Nostalgia show was one of the best concerts I've ever been to in my life. For someone who has watched these individuals grow as artists through youtube, it has been very inspiring seeing where they are today. The music they have created is timeless, and till this day, I still listen to all the songs as if I was still in 2011.Lastly, if you are one of those people who were part of those tumblr days in the early 2010s and debate whether or not to see them live again after how many years, DO IT BECAUSE YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT.
